It is with the deepest sorrow that on October 4th surrounded by his loving family, Gaylord Gene Flood beloved Husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Gaylord was born on February 29, 1944, to J.D. and Irene Flood in Abilene, Texas. As the son of a military father, he traveled the country before the family settled in Fort Stockton, Texas, where he graduated from high school in May 1963. He began his college education shortly after, but it was interrupted when he received a draft summons from the U.S. Army. Choosing to honor his father's legacy, Gaylord enlisted in the U.S. Navy instead in 1965. Following his military service, he embarked on a lifelong career in the oil and gas industry—a journey that took him across the globe and ultimately led him to his final home in Weatherford, Oklahoma.

Gaylord is survived by his devoted wife of 38 years, Anne Flood; his sister Linda Ham; his children, David (Charlotte) Flood and Keri (Brian) Murphy; and two cherished daughters by marriage, Terrie (Lloyd Foley) Ortiz and Jody (Ronnie) Cagle. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren—Dakota Flood, Pamela Trost, Molly Murphy, Greyson Murphy, Allison (Cody Lewis) Ortiz, Stephanie (Vincent Hernandez) Ortiz, Ty Cagle, Quay (Bryce) Flint, and Scottie Cagle—and four great-grandchildren: Abrielle Lewis, Vincent Hernandez, Leona Flint, and Deklen Flint.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.D. and Irene Flood, and one grandson, Chace Mahan.
