Gay
Frans
February 22, 1952 – July 15, 2022
Gay was born February 22, 1952, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Pascal Vernon and Peggy (Lavora) McAlister and passed away Friday, July 15, 2022, at OU Edmond Medical Center, at the age of 70 years, 4 months and 23 days.
Gay was the youngest daughter of eight siblings, four brothers, Johnny, Charlie, Vernon, Kenneth and three sisters, Freda, Donna, Edna.
Gay was working in Clinton, Oklahoma when a friend introduced her to Deon Frans and it was love at first sight. They dated a short three months and on October 5, 1974, she married the love of her life in Weatherford, Oklahoma. They made their home west of Thomas, Oklahoma where they raised their three children.
Gay had been a devoted follower of Jesus since 1979 and a beacon of light to everyone that knew her. Gay and her husband were baptized together in 1979. She lived her life to serve others and to show them the love of Jesus.
Gay was so talented and gifted she could make something beautiful out of nothing. She enjoyed decorating and everything she touched was beautiful. Gay worked as a custodian for the Thomas Public school system for 21 years. After she retired, she enjoyed working in her yard, taking trips with her granddaughter Jessica, helping family and friends anytime they needed it, putting together tea parties and themed birthday parties. She loved going all out for Halloween and loved the happiness it brought to all the kids faces. She poured out unconditional love to her family and taught them how to always stand firm in their faith and look to the Lord for everything.
Gay is survived by two sons, Bryan and Marie Frans of Thomas, Oklahoma, Kurt Frans of Enid, Oklahoma; daughter Michelle and Tommy Whitlow of Thomas, Oklahoma; Grandchildren, Jessica and Chance Stephens of Thomas, Oklahoma, Keylee and Karson Frans, Cayla DeHaas, Jace Frans, Emily, Denver, and Michigan Whitlow; and numerous friends and family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Deon Frans; her parents Pascal and Peggy McAlister; and her mother and father-in-law, Morty and Wilma Frans.
