Gary was born to Kenneth and Thelma (Hittle) Lyle on October 31, 1938, in Enid, Oklahoma. Gary passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at Corn Heritage Village in Weatherford, OK. Gary spent his growing up years in Enid, Hutchinson, Kansas, and Woodward, Oklahoma where he graduated from high school. He became a Christian at a young age and grew up in the Church of Christ. He attended Northwestern Oklahoma State College in Alva and became a young husband and father before he graduated from college. The family moved to Denver, CO, and then back to Oklahoma. He spent the majority of his working career with the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission and was a Director of Field Operations. After retiring he worked for Red Rock as a counselor. He married Betty Myers in 1988 and gained two more sons. He enjoyed spending time with the family, watching old movies, listening to the music of the big band era and 50s and 60s, and travelling. He was most happy when he was having a conversation over coffee with family or friends. Expressions of love may be made to the memorial fund of the Federated Church of Weatherford or a charity of your choice.
Gary is survived by his wife, Betty, of the home; two sons, Mike Lyle and wife, Teresa, of Columbia, TN and Rob Lyle and wife, Sharon, of Wetumpka, AL; two stepsons, Kelley Myers and wife, Trina, of Owasso, OK, and Kerry Myers and wife, Kelly Jo, of Clinton, OK. He is also survived by his sister, Jeanne Lowry, of Paris, TX, and a niece and nephew. He was especially proud of his eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family expresses their sincere appreciation to the many caregivers who have touched their lives, especially Corn Heritage Village.
