Frieda Mahlstedt was born on July 6, 1937 on a farm in Walters, Oklahoma to Paul and Ollie (Stapp) Mincey and passed away Saturday, July 4, 2020 in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, at the age of 82 years, 11 months and 28 days.

Frieda was raised in Walters, Faxon, and Temple during her elementary years then moved to Lawton for Middle School and High School, graduating from Lawton High in 1954. On December 26, 1955, Frieda married R.L. Mahlstedt in Lawton. They moved to Edmond so R.L. could finish his degree. They moved back to Lawton to manage grocery stores before moving to Thomas in 1963 to buy the Thomas Red Bud Grocery Store. After selling the grocery store to Alan & Pam Deck, Frieda and R.L. moved to Weatherford and she went to work in Quality Control for 3M. She retired from 3M in 1996 and enjoyed traveling, volunteering, and watching OU Football. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, SWOSU Athletic Department, or the First Baptist Church.

Frieda is survived by one daughter, Sharon Mahan and husband Derwin of Weatherford, five grandchildren, Jeremy Mullins and wife, Melody of Crane, Missouri, Jerod Bristo of Lubbock, Texas, Jerry Lynn Mahlstedt II and wife Amber of Crane, Missouri, Jade Mahan of Weatherford and  Jordan Mahan of Weatherford. Eight great-grandchildren, Brayden and Seth Mahlstedt, Wyatt and Lilly Mullins, Maguire, Broden, Atley and Ellis Jo Bristo. One niece, Erin Borst and husband Jim of Clearwater, Florida, and two nephews, Floyd Bone and wife Rhonda of The Woodlands, Texas and Robbie Mincey and wife Krystal of Overland Park, Kansas. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, R.L, one son, Jerry, one sister, Pauline, and one brother, Robert.
