Ferrell Dean Roles was born February 22, 1938 in Carter, Oklahoma to B. B. and Bonnie (Peveler) Roles and passed away on Friday 13, 2013 at the Weatherford Living Center with his family at his side. Ferrell was raised and attended school in Hollis, Oklahoma where he graduated in 1957. He received his Masters degree in education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. On August 9, 1959 he married Tiajuana Sue Carrick and made their home in Altus, Oklahoma before moving to Weatherford, Oklahoma in 1968. He worked for Opportunities Inc, out of Watonga, he then moved on to work for SWODA out of Burns Flat before becoming the General Manager at Jameson Chevrolet.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, camping, raising hunting dogs, friends and especially his family and grandchildren. He loved to watch his Oklahoma Sooners and his Dallas Cowboys play football. His longtime health issues never slowed him down or discouraged him from enjoying life as much as he possibly could. With his favorite saying being "Never give up" and the manner in which he confronted his health issues daily was an inspiration to people around him.
Ferrell is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sue Roles of their home in Weatherford, Oklahoma; one daughter, Belinda Thacker and husband Brad of Weatherford, Oklahoma; one son Clint Roles of Weatherford, Oklahoma; his mother, Bonnie Sunderland of Corn, Oklahoma; one brother, Dan Roles and his wife Brenda of San Antonio, Texas; two grandchildren, Lauren and Logan Roles of Weatherford, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his father, B.B. Roles.
Donations may be made to the First Baptist Church or the Arthritis Foundation.
