Evelyn Mildred Petrowsky was born June 10, 1926, in Rice County, Kansas to Sebastian John and Gertrude Sophia (Koch) Ricker and passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Weatherford Regional Hospital, at the age of 95 years, 7 months and 3 days.

Evelyn was raised on a farm on Cow Creek in Rice County, Kansas and attended a one-room schoolhouse before graduating from Bushton High School in 1944. After graduating high school, she worked as a nurse's aide in Sterling, Kansas for 2 years. On August 26, 1946, Evelyn married Clarence Petrowsky in Ellinwood, Kansas and they made their home in Topeka, Kansas. They lived in Norman, Oklahoma from 1949 until 1951 when they moved to Tonkawa, Oklahoma for 10 years and then to Goodwell, Oklahoma. In 1963, they moved to Weatherford, Oklahoma where she later worked as a surgery technician at Weatherford Regional Hospital for 11 years. Evelyn loved being outdoors. She enjoyed working in her garden and flower beds, quilting, crafts, cooking and spending time with family and friends. Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church.

Evelyn is survived by her four daughters: Debra Kay Clark and husband, Tom of Winston, Georgia; Kathryn Dee Petrowsky and husband, Andy Frye of Garnett, Kansas; Susie Minton and husband, Trey of Weatherford; and Tammy Gorman and husband, Jeff of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and one son, Marc Petrowsky and wife, Margaret of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, John, Ervin and Elmer; three sisters, Ethel, Mabel and Bernice; and one daughter, Sherri.
