Funeral services for Evadene Dora Woolbert, 84 year-old Oakwood, Georgia resident, formerly of Weatherford, will be held Monday, April 25, 2016, 10:00 A.M. at the Church of Christ with Dr. John M. Huser, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.
Evadene was born June 19, 1931, in Weatherford, Oklahoma to John Robert and Myrna (Shackleford) Steiner and passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2016, in Waterford at Oakwood in Oakwood, Georgia. Evadene was raised southeast of Weatherford and graduated from Weatherford High School in 1948. On August 25, 1950, she married Gerald D. Bus Zwirtz in Cordell, Oklahoma and they made their home in Weatherford until his passing in 1990. Evadene worked for Roof Drilling Company for 18 years and then started working for Dr. Huser in 1967 where she worked as his office manager for over 30 years, retiring in 1997. On May 22, 1994, she married Jerry Woolbert in Glen Allen, Virginia and they made their home in Weatherford. Evadene spent the past 5 years with her daughter, Jana, in Georgia. Evadene enjoyed oil painting, square dancing, traveling, and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She also volunteered at Weatherford Regional Hospital as a Pink Lady; was a member and President of the American Association of Medical Assistants; was active with the Red Hat Society; and enjoyed her church activities. Memorials may be made to the Church of Christ.
Evadene is survived by her daughter, Jana Dene Easter and husband, Mike of Gainesville, Georgia; two grandchildren, Todd Easter of Nashville, Tennessee and Vanessa Dene Whitten and husband, Warren of Suwanee, Georgia; two great-grandchildren, Ava Dene and Ansel James Whitten; three brothers, Glen Lavern Steiner and wife, Bonnie of McPhearson, Kansas, Bob Steiner and wife, Barbara of Weatherford, Oklahoma, and Dale Steiner and wife, Ann of Amarillo, Texas; and her nieces and nephews that meant so much to her, Tom, David, Susan, Pam, Peggy, Mike, Joe, Mitch, Pat, Vicky, Kathy, Stephanie, Michelle, Marty, David, Paul, Keneath, Tonya, Sean, Nicole, Krista, and Erin. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands, Bus Zwirtz and Jerry Woolbert; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl and Betts, Lawrence and Jackie, Bill and Leana, and Ken and Sheen Steiner; and a sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Louis Howsley.
