Ervin Hugh Ellis was born on September 29, 1930 in Taloga to Jewell and Delia (Thomson) Ellis and passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2018 in Weatherford, at the age of 87 years, 8 months, and 3 days.

Ervin was raised near Taloga and attended Mountain View Rural School (Soddy). His family moved in 1944 to California and they lived in Delano and Modesto, where he graduated high school in 1949. Upon graduation, Ervin enlisted in the US Air Force and served during the Korean Conflict. He was released from service and arrived home on January 31, 1953 and on February 21, 1953 he married Mary J Davis and they made their home in Butler, OK. Ervin worked as a lineman for the Rural Electric Administration before moving to California in 1956 to work for Pacific Gas and Electric. He returned to Oklahoma in 1961 and began working for Public Service Co. of Oklahoma and worked for them for 39 years, making his home in McAlister, OK for almost 40 years. In 2012 they moved to Weatherford, Oklahoma. He enjoyed traveling, hunting and fishing, his farm and tractors, and volunteering with the Heartland Museum and Oklahoma Baptist Builders Fellowship. Memorials may be made to the Heartland Museum or St. Jude's Cancer Research.

Ervin is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary J (Davis) Ellis of the home in Weatherford; four sons, Jimmy and Delores Ellis of Vancouver, Washington, Alan Ellis of Taloga, Ron Ellis of Crowley, Texas, Eldon Ellis of Kingston; one sister, Shirlene Rainery of Shady Cove, Oregon; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Ellis of Stockton, California; eight Grandchildren; and thirteen Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Parents; Grandson, Brent Ellis; and two brothers, Otto and Orville Ellis.
