Memorial: 3:00 PM Saturday, April 20th, 2013Corn Heritage Village

Memorial services for Ernestine M. (Pickett) Clark Blevins, 93 year-old Corn, Oklahoma resident, will be held Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. in Corn Heritage Village in Corn, Oklahoma with Chaplain Chip Perkins officiating.

Ernestine was born March 16, 1920 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Ernest Grant and Violet B. (Beaman) Pickett and passed away Sunday, April 14, 2013 in Corn Heritage Village in Corn, Oklahoma. Ernestine was raised and attended school in Shattuck and graduated from Shattuck High School. She also attended the Christian Church in Shattuck. Ernestine married Francis Marion Clark on August 1, 1939. To this union was born one child, Francess Jean Clark. After the death of her husband, Francis, she obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the Girls Baptist College Meredith, in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Ernestine returned to Oklahoma and married John W. Blevins on January 25, 1948 at Alva, Oklahoma. They had one son, Larry John Blevins. In 1971, she received her Master of Education from Southwestern State College. Ernestine was a retired school teacher who enjoyed her family, friends and teaching. Memorials may be made to the Disabled Veterans of America.

Ernestine is survived by one daughter, Francess Clark of Healdsburg, California and three granddaughters, Mary Sherlock of Napa, California, Vickie Williams of Clinton, Oklahoma, and Amanda Jones of Clinton, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Francis Clark; two brothers; and one sister.
