Obituary

Funeral: 2:00 PM Monday, October 29th, 2012Calvary Baptist Church

Funeral services for Elvina Fern Beasley, 81 year-old Corn, Oklahoma resident, will be held Monday, October 29, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. in the Calvary Baptist Church in Corn with Ken Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in Corn Mennonite Brethren Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.

Elvina was born January 18, 1931 near Colony, Oklahoma to Sam and Anna (Schapansky) Schmidt and passed away Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Corn Heritage Village in Corn, Oklahoma. Elvina was raised and attended school in Corn, Oklahoma and graduated from Corn High School in 1949. She married A.T. Duncan and they made their home in California. On May 9, 1971, Elvina married Tracy Beasley in Yuma, Arizona and they returned to Corn in 1981. Elvina worked as a LPN for the Weatherford Hospital for 20 years and later worked at Corn Heritage Village for 8 years. Elvina enjoyed knitting, reading, traveling, playing cards, and dancing. Memorials may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church in Corn, Oklahoma.

Elvina is survived by two sons, Dale Duncan and wife, Kim Stephens of Mustang, Oklahoma and Gilbert Duncan of Corn, Oklahoma; one daughter, Charlene Cantrell and husband, Larry Brown of Corn, Oklahoma; one brother, Dale Schmidt and wife, Bernice of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Lavonda Wilson of Hydro, Oklahoma and Carol Balascoe of Cleveland, Ohio; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grand-children. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; and one son, Terry.
