Graveside services for Elsie Bernice Albin, 80 year-old Weatherford, Oklahoma resident, will be held Thursday, March 28, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. in the Bethany Cemetery in Thomas, Oklahoma, under the directions of Lockstone Funeral Home. Vinita Dowell will give the Eulogy, Pastor John Forsythe providing the final words, and Brother James Rainwater as the soloist. Seven grandsons are the pallbearers in honor of their grandmother.

Elsie was born February 9, 1933 to Rudolph and Emma (Hasz) Radke in Clinton, Oklahoma and went to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, March 25, 2013, at Corn Heritage Village of Weatherford, to join her husband of 49 years. Elsie was blessed to marry Kenneth Wayne Albin in Upland, California on July 5, 1952 and was married for 49 years. She was also blessed with four children, Vinita (James) Dowell of Weatherford, Oklahoma, James Albin of Fort Worth, Texas, Tammy (Melvin) Lancaster of Thomas, Oklahoma, and Iona (Mike) Miller of Hydro, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; one brother, Alex (94 years), and two sisters, Sylvia (87 years) and Leontina (78 years).

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Emily, Ester, Alma, and Mary; and brothers, Martin, Alfred, and Arthur Latell. Elsie was a homemaker for many years until the children were grown and then worked at Southwestern Oklahoma State University as a secretary until her retirement in 1987. She also served as a pianist for her church in the 60s, was a self taught cake decorator, and a Sunday school teacher for many years teaching the youth. Her passion was making blankets, utilizing her talent until she was forced to quit due to her eyesight. One of her other talents which was not known outside of the family was her great story telling.

Memorial contributions in Elsies honor may be made to the Russell-Murray Hospice or to Corn Heritage Nursing Home of Weatherford.
