Funeral: 10:00 AM Saturday, October 11th, 2014Corn Mennonite Brethren Church

Funeral services for Elmer Jacob Kroeker, 93 year-old Corn, Oklahoma resident, will be held Saturday, October 11, 2014, 10:00 A.M. in the Corn Mennonite Brethren Church with Tim Sandy officiating. Burial will follow in Corn Mennonite Brethren Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.

Elmer was born April 10, 1921, in Colony, Oklahoma to Jacob and Mary (Zielke) Kroeker and passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2014, at the Corn Heritage Village of Corn, Oklahoma. Elmer was raised four miles east of Corn and attended rural schools and in 1940 graduated from Corn Bible Academy. On January 11, 1942, he married Luella Kliewer in the Corn Mennonite Brethren Church and made their home east of Corn. He was in Civilian Public Service for two years in Downing, Idaho and two years in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Elmer farmed and did some carpentry work. He farmed and did land construction and later worked on a grader for Washita County. Elmer loved farming and spending time with his family. Memorials may be made to the Corn Bible Academy.

Elmer is survived by his son, Wallace Kroeker and wife, Marlene of Hillsboro, Kansas; daughter, Charlene Epp and husband, Marvin of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; one brother, Marvin Kroeker and wife, Lily of Reedley, California; three sisters, Ruby Bayless of Reedley, California, Loretta Babich and husband, Nick of Oregon, and Jennie Vogt of Visalia, California; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; three brothers, Carl, Harvey, and Orville Kroeker; and two sisters, Esther and Edna.
