Ella "Doree" Humphrey was born on April 4, 1933 to Orvel and Opal (Tennison) Thomas and passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2019 in Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City, OK having reached the age of 86 years, 1 month, 15 days..

Doree was raised in Thomas where she attended Thomas Public Schools. She married James Earl Humphrey on September 26, 1948 in Wheeler, TX and they made their home in Thomas—later moving to Wichita, KS and Oklahoma City, OK, before returning to Thomas. Doree worked as a nurse for several doctors in the area and at the Thomas Memorial Hospital before retiring in 1995. She enjoyed reading and sewing. Memorial may be made to the American Heart Association.

She is survived by one son, Jim Humphrey of Thomas, OK; one daughter, Cherie Mitchell; 4 grandchildren, James Jones, Jamee' Michalski, Cassandra Mireles, Kodey Ringler; and nine great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother, Ira; and three sisters, Evelyn, Leona and Loleta.
