Obituary

Funeral: 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 7th, 2014"The Chapel" of Lockstone Funeral Home

Funeral Services for Elda Mae Lay, 90 year old Weatherford resident will be held Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at 2:00 P.M at The Chapel of Lockstone Funeral Home, with Brother Calvin Fadenrecht Officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.

Elda was born on January 9, 1924 to Jake Hamburger and Anna Holly Hamburger and died on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Corn Heritage Village in Corn. She was raised and attended school in Weatherford, graduating from High school in 1942. She married Robert Lay on April 17, 1944 in Weatherford. She lived in Weatherford and worked as a cook for TKE House, Kings Restaurant, and the Weatherford Hospital for 30 years. She retired in 1992. Elda enjoyed cooking and cooking for the church, gardening, embroidering. Memorials may be made to Alzheimers Research.

Elda was survived by her two sons, Curtis Lay and wife Jo Williams of Weatherford, Doice Lay and wife Denise of Mustang; one daughter, Wylene and husband Steve Kliewer of Cimarron,KS; two sisters, Bernice Bergman of Mankato, KS, Cora Marks of Kansas City, MO; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter; Donice Matney, four brothers; Levi, Elroy, Aleal, and Eugene, and one sister; Wilma Soper.
