Family will receive friends and family for visitation on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 in "The Chapel" of Lockstone Funeral Home of Thomas from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.

Dorothy Jane "Janie" Stevens was born to James and Dorothy "Elouise" (Lapel) Hamar on June 27, 1943, in Thomas, OK and passed away on Friday, August 3, 2018 at Corn Heritage Village in Weatherford, OK, having reached the age of 75 years, 1 month, and 6 days.

Janie was raised east of Custer City and attended school in Custer City, graduating in 1961. She attended college for 1 year. On June 1, 1962, Janie married David LeRoy Stevens and they made their home southeast of Thomas. Later they moved into Thomas where they raised their family. Janie worked at various jobs and at the Thomas School as secretary for 22 years. She enjoyed her grandkids, going to their activities, reading, volunteering at the church and teaching Sunday school. Janie attended Canadian Valley Baptist Church of Yukon, OK. Memorials may be made to Hope Pregnancy Center, 1624 SW 82nd St., OKC, OK 73159.

Janie is survived by 3 sons, James Stevens and his wife, Gail of Arapaho, OK, Daron Stevens and his wife, Debbie of Custer City, OK and Devin Stevens and his wife, Barbara of Mustang, OK; six grandchildren, Christopher, Landon, Skylar, Meagan, Joshua, and Matthew; three great-grandchildren, Kiian, Marley and Layton; 2 sisters, Glenda Claussen and her husband, Donnie of Thomas, OK and Peggy Borror and her husband, Phil of Kingfisher, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Dorothy "Elouise" Hamar, husband, LeRoy.
