Dorothy May Bury was born October 28, 1927, in Corn to Homer and Anne (Edigar) Avants and passed away, Friday, May 1, 2020, in Corn Heritage Village of Weatherford, at the age of 92 years, 6 months, and 4 days.

Dorothy was raised and attended school in Corn and later moved with the family to Oklahoma City, graduating with the Class of 1945. She was secretary for a dance studio after
moving to Dallas to live with her brother, Loyd. Dorothy married Charles Bury and made their home in Plano, Texas for over 30 years. She returned back to Oklahoma in 2011. Dorothy enjoyed traveling and gardening.

Dorothy is survived by a brother, Floyd Avants of Altus; her caregiver nephew, Leon Kroeker of Corn; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Lee, Sam and Loyd; and a sister, Lorena.
