Donald "Donnie" Wayne Schantz was born on October 27, 1938, in Thomas, OK to Peter and Barbara Schantz and passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at the age of 84 years, 10 months and 3 days.

Donald was raised in Thomas, OK and finished 11th grade from Thomas High School. He married Carol Jean Ledbetter on May 5, 1961, in Hominy, OK and raised six kids in Thomas. Donald was a hard worker, a good provider, and quiet in his expression of love. Donald provided for his family by working at Sinclair gas station as well as delivering the Sunday paper to as far as the Oklahoma panhandle on Saturdays after working all day at the service station. Later he would drive a school bus in Thomas until his eyesight would not allow him to anymore.

Donnie is survived by his children, Elisa Wilkerson and husband, Cody of Tulsa, OK, Larry Schantz and his wife, Tenna of Decatur, TX, Donna Williams and Rob Sheppard of Weatherford, OK, Johnny Schantz and his wife, Saundra of Bessemer, AL, Bobby Schantz and his wife, Julia of Clinton, OK and Bianca Caler and her husband, Gary of Booker, TX. eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Schantz, and a grandson, Jared Wayne Schantz. Donnie will be laid to rest next to his wife, Carol in Mound Valley Cemetery on September 6, 2023.
