Donald Roof was born December 6, 1934, in Thomas to John and Cora (Loepp) Roof and passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2018, at the Clinton Hospital at the age of 83 years, 9 months, and 25 days.

Donald was born and raised in Thomas. He attended school there as well where he excelled in both basketball and football. Donald played on both the 1950 and 1951 state football championship teams. He graduated in 1952. He then married Charlene Sewell on September 18, 1953. They made their home in Thomas. Donald had several occupations throughout his lifetime. He farmed, roughnecked, upholstered, was employed at McNeill Grain Elevator, and was a restaurant owner of the Time Out Cafe. Before retiring in 1999, he was co-owner of Flotest, Inc. which was an oilfield service company.

Donald is survived by his two sons, Tony Roof of Thomas, Oklahoma and Kent Roof and wife, Stacey of Yukon, Oklahoma; three daughters, Jana Foster and her husband, Mark of Ft. Supply, Oklahoma, Dana Hinds of San Antonio, Texas, and Kristie Fleshman and husband, Larry of Norman, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Gary Roof, Michael Roof, Krystal Beckner, Korbin Roof and Jaxon Roof; and five great-grandchildren, Riley Ann Roof, Hudson Roof, Asher Roof, Kyra Taniguchi, SaRhea Hamilton, and Kameron Hamilton. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and son-in-law, Kevin Bratten.
