Funeral services for Donald Don Glenn Hess, 91 year-old Weatherford, Oklahoma resident, will be held Friday, March 24, 2017, 10:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church with Earl Stephenson officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.

Don was born May 26, 1925, in Manchester, Oklahoma to Herman and Lilah (Williams) Hess and passed away, Monday March 20, 2017, at Weatherford Regional Hospital. Don was raised and attended school in Nash, Oklahoma and graduated from Nash High School in 1943. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1951 serving during the Korean Conflict. On December 5, 1953, Don married Rachel Conner in Belle Fourche, South Dakota and made their home in Ponca City for 59 years. He worked for Continental Oil Company, which is now Conoco, and retired in 1987. They moved to Weatherford in 2013 to be near family. Donald enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, crossword puzzles, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church.

Don is survived by his wife of 63 years, Rachel Hess of their home in Weatherford, Oklahoma; two sons, Jim Hess of Spearfish, South Dakota and Phil Hess and wife, Debby of Trenton, Texas; four daughters, Dorothy Smith and husband, Albert of Odessa, Texas, Patsy Knight and husband, Harold of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Pam Burks and husband, Rick of Lampe, Missouri, and Janice Buffington and husband, Brian of Weatherford, Oklahoma; one brother, Larry Leon Hess and wife, Pat of Moore, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Juanita, Lenora and Helen; one brother, Dale; and one grandson, Brandon Smith.
