Funeral services for Don Curtis Rushing, 76 year-old Weatherford, Oklahoma resident, will be held Thursday, October 31, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. in the First Baptist Church with Earl Stephenson officiating. Burial will be at 1:30 P.M. at Sunnyside Cemetery in Vici, Oklahoma under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.

Curtis was born January 19, 1937 in Durant, Oklahoma to William and Lorraine (McCasland) Rushing and passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Weatherford Regional Hospital in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Curtis was raised and attended school in Madill, Oklahoma and graduated from Madill High School in 1956. On July 28, 1959, he married Doris Baldwin in Woodward, Oklahoma. Curtis worked in the oilfield for Phillips and Schlumberger. In 1967, he became a Trooper with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol serving Weatherford, Elk City, and then back to Weatherford for 18 years. He operated C.R. Weed Control since 1976 which is still in operation. Curtis married Julie Cosby on June 2, 2005 in Forsythe, Missouri and made their home in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Curtis enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys, NASCAR, vacationing in Branson, Missouri and South Fork, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the First Baptist Church.

Curtis is survived by his wife, Julie Rushing of their home in Weatherford, Oklahoma; one daughter, Donna Webb and husband, John of Weatherford, Oklahoma; three step-daughters, Cheyenne Cosby, Sydney Williamson, and Kali Farmer; one brother, Keith Rushing of Muskogee, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Miranda Bailey and husband, Cody of Weatherford, Oklahoma and Michael Webb and wife, Amber also of Weatherford, Oklahoma; and four great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Carson, Gage, and Rush. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Doris.
