Dixie Glee Gilworth was born July 12, 1932, in Weatherford, Oklahoma to Vann and Leta (Alkire) Leonard and passed away Friday, October 26, 2018, at Brookdale Assisted Living in Weatherford, Oklahoma.
Dixie was raised on a family farm homestead, northwest of Weatherford, Oklahoma. She attended school in Weatherford and graduated from Weatherford High School in 1951. Dixie was owner and operator of "The Smart Shop" for 40 years, where she kept all the ladies in high style. Dixie was in a Bridge Club with all of her friends for 40 years and later played Bunko with her neighbors. She was an avid gardener and had a green thumb, and had an award winning flower garden. In her free time Dixie enjoyed gambling with her sister. Her favorite time of year was Christmas, when she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Dixie is survived by her daughter, Glee Davis of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two sons, Rex Gilworth Jr. of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Lyle Gilworth of Weatherford, Oklahoma; two sisters, Margaret Goucher of Weatherford, Oklahoma and Norma Dirickson of Elk City, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Kyle Wardell, Cody Davis, Lacy Gilworth, Southern Gilworth, and Rhett Gilworth; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Nyle, Bruce, Billy and Max Leonard; and an infant son, Charles.
