Funeral services for Dianne Annette Hardin, 79 year-old Weatherford, Oklahoma resident, will be held Saturday, August 12, 2017, 10:00 A.M. at Pleasant View Mennonite Church with Jeff Selzer officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.
Annette was born March 2, 1938, in Weatherford, Oklahoma to Theodore and LaVena (Burnett) Horst and passed away Thursday, August 10, 2017, at home in Weatherford surrounded by her family. Annette was raised in Weatherford and attended school for the first 8 years in a one room school house. She then moved into town with her grandmother and attended Weatherford public schools graduating from Weatherford High School in 1956. In March of 1957, Annette married Richard Roof and they made their home in Weatherford. They later moved to Oklahoma City where she attended college. Annette moved back to Weatherford in 1970 where she met Jay Hardin and they married July 26, 1975. At the age of 50, she went back to college and received her Bachelors degree in Biology. Annette worked for the Weatherford Hospital in the lab for over 30 years as a Medical Technologist, retiring in 2003. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crafts, reading, tole painting, crocheting, needle point, and spending time with family and friends. Memorials may be made to the Pleasant View Mennonite Church.
Annette is survived by one son, Randy Roof of Denton, Texas; two daughters, Vicki Roof of Weatherford, Oklahoma and Julie Boese and husband, Robert of Corn, Oklahoma; one step-daughter, Tami Prichert and husband, Stan of Twin Falls, Idaho; two daughters-in-law, Angie Hardin of Weatherford, Oklahoma and Brenda Roof of Phoenix, Arizona; one brother, Jerry Horst and wife, Shirley of Moore, Oklahoma; one sister, Phyllis Nicholson and husband, Byron of Lubbock, Texas; twenty grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jay; son, David Roof; and step-son, Jeff Hardin.
