Funeral: 10:00 AM Friday, August 9th, 2013First United Methodist Church

Funeral services for Denver Lee Willis, 87 year-old Weatherford, Oklahoma resident, will be held Friday, August 9, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Lynn Brack officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.

Denver was born September 2, 1925 in Yonkers, Oklahoma to James Perry and Dora Jane (Crabtree) Willis and passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2013 in Weatherwood Assisted Living in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Denver was raised and attended school in Wagoner, Oklahoma. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Denver moved to central Kansas where he worked on the pipeline. On May 31, 1951, he married Anna May Boyle in Hoisington, Kansas and made their home in Stockton, Kansas; Russell, Kansas; Meade, Kansas; and moved to Weatherford in May of 1976. Denver worked with Michigan/Wisconsin and later with ANR before retiring in 1983. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching westerns, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Denver is survived by one son, Steve Willis and wife, Roma of Weatherford, Oklahoma; two daughters, Patricia Bejot and husband, Mark of Wakefield, Nebraska and Carol Curtis of Weatherford, Oklahoma; two brothers, Don Willis and wife, Katie of Grove, Oklahoma and Clay Willis and wife, Argie Willis of Bella Vista, Arkansas; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; three brothers, James Amos, Norman, and Glenn; and by his three sisters, Geneva, Dorothy, and Odena.
