Graveside services for Dennis Ray Dodd, 45 year-old Weatherford, Oklahoma resident, were held Wednesday, October 8, 2014, 4:30 P.M. at Liberty Cemetery in Fay, Oklahoma under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.

Dennis was born March 19, 1969 in Van Buren, Arkansas to Billy Carl and Brenda Rae (Dyer) Dodd and passed away Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Weatherford Regional Hospital. Dennis was raised and attended school in the Sweetwater, Oklahoma area and graduated from Sweetwater High School in 1987. He worked in the oil field industry most of his adult life, and was still active. Dennis enjoyed hunting and fishing with his dear father, Billy, at Kaw Lake where they spent many happy hours out on his pontoon boat. He was able to move to Kaw Lake to take care of his father before his passing in 2005. Dennis moved to Weatherford in 2007. On September 25, 2014, he married Moreta Shifflett, the love of his life, his lady, in El Reno, Oklahoma. Dennis never left a room without saying I Love You, he never finished a text without saying I Love You and he never went to sleep without saying Goodnight My Lady.

Dennis is survived by his mother, Brenda Smulcer of Newkirk, Oklahoma; his wife, Moreta Dodd of their home in Weatherford, Oklahoma; one son, Dalton Dodd and wife, Troi of Maysville, Oklahoma; one daughter, Daylee Dodd of Lindsey, Oklahoma; two brothers, William Dodd of Dale, Oklahoma and Jeff Smulcer of Woodward, Oklahoma; one sister, Elaine McElveen her husband, Paul of Kaw City, Oklahoma; and his dog family who he loved dearly, RayRay, Joe, Lefty, R.J., and LilBit. He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Dodd and his 15 year old cocker spaniel, Roscoe, who passed away this past summer.
