Obituary

Denman "Denny" Lynwood Spears went to be with the Heavenly Father on October 3, 2025.  Denny was born in Picayune, Mississippi on March 1, 1955, to Eulice and Patricia (Schicker) Spears.  He was the oldest of brothers, Shelly, Joe, Dale, and his sister, Marie Spears.

Denny went to the United States Marine Corps in late 1974-75.  He proudly served the United States for 4 years with an honorable discharge.  Denny served with dedication, honor, loyalty, and faith.

Denny used that same dedication to collaborate with his dad painting houses, working on a barge while offshore drilling, and building playgrounds for children across the United States.  He worked hard to provide for his wife and children.

Denny was married to his beloved wife, Karen (Henley) Spears for 37 years.  He was a great father to Ricky Spears and Eric Spears.  He is a grandfather to: Ariel, Carla June "CJ", James "JD", Keaton "KJ, Sierra, and Dalton.  His wife, children, grandchildren, and his scooter were his greatest earthly treasures.

Denny loved feeling the sun and wind in his face as he rode his Kawasaki Scooter.  He went on multiple charity runs on his scooter.  He loved the freedom, air valium (as he called it) and the power of scooter.

Denny was preceded in death by his parents, Eulas and Patricia Spears; his brother, Joe Spears; his beloved wife, Karen Spears; his son, Eric Spears; and grandson, Tyler Spears.  He is survived by his son, Ricky Spears and wife, Erica; siblings, Shelly, Dale, and Marie; his nephew, Lil Joe; long-time friend, Greg; and Erica's uncle, Don Carter.
