Funeral services for Delores Dee Jean Stinson, 79 year-old Weatherford, Oklahoma resident, will be held Friday, June 5, 2015, 10:00 A.M. at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Mark Spena officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.

Dee was born on Friday, January 31, 1936, south of Weatherford, to W.L. Vern and Bertha (Boese) Gaunt and passed from this life on Tuesday, June 2, 2015, in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Her final days were spent, at home, surrounded by family and friends. Attending grade school in the country school known as Mound Valley, Dee graduated from Weatherford high School in 1952. Her college days were spent at Southwestern Oklahoma State University; graduating in May 1956, with a Bachelors Degree in Business Education. After graduation, Dee moved to California where her brother and sister-in-law were stationed at Edwards Air Force Base. She was a civilian worker at Edwards AFB in the Flight Test Center for the F104 Project Commander. It was here that Dee met her future husband, Harold Hal Stinson, who was in the United States Air Force. On September 11, 1959, Dee and Hal were married at the First Baptist Church in Weatherford, Oklahoma.

After Hal completed service in the USAF, they moved to Oklahoma City. Dee worked for the Federal Aviation Administration as an executive assistant to the Director of FAA. After the death of her father, Hal and Dee moved to Weatherford. In 1974, they built their current home on the farm, south of town. In 1981, both Dee and Hal began working at 3M until their retirement in 1996. Dee enjoyed her retirement. Her love of faith, family, traveling and tending to her beautiful flower gardens kept her busy.

Dee is survived by her husband of 55 years, Harold Hal Stinson of their home in Weatherford, Oklahoma; two sons, Greg Stinson and his wife, Glenda of Ft. Worth, Texas and Scott Stinson and his wife, Michelle of Weatherford, Oklahoma; one brother, Carol Gaunt of Weatherford, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Tyler Stinson and his wife, Jamie, Meagan Merkey and her husband, Paul, Jay Stinson, and Riley Stinson all of Weatherford, Oklahoma; and two great-grandchildren, Chandler and Alyvia. She was preceded in death by her parents, W.L. and Bertha Gaunt and her sister-in-law, Twila Gaunt.

Memorials may be made to the Emmanuel Baptist Children Ministry.
