Funeral services for David Ross Kat Clingman, 71 year-old Weatherford, Oklahoma resident, will be held in The Chapel of Lockstone Funeral Home on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor Earl Stephenson officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday evening, September 7, 2012 from 6:00 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

David was born November 25, 1940 to Jesse Clay and Bertha (Schapansky) Clingman in Corvallis, Oregon, but was a lifelong resident of Weatherford until his passing. He passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at the Weatherford Living Center in Weatherford, Oklahoma. David was known as Kat and was a friend to all who knew him. There was never a stranger in his life.

For many years Kat worked as an expert shoe shine person employed by the downtown barber shop. He also worked at the TG&Y under the gentle direction of George Wilkinson. Kat later served as a custodian at the Weatherford Bowling Alley.

Kat was an avid car enthusiast, attending many shows in the Oklahoma area. His favorite pastime was spent assembling model hot rods. After his move into the Weatherford Living Center, Kat devoted his time to drawing pictures of his beloved hot rods. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to the First Baptist Church, 1510 E. David Road, Weatherford, Oklahoma, 73096.

Kat is survived by his sister, Yvonne Eve Wilcox and husband, Gene; niece, Tracy Ratzin and husband, Greg and their children, great nieces, Jessica and Kelsey; nephew, Ryan Hudson and wife, Julie; along with numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Bertha (Schapansky) Clingman and his father, Jesse Clingman.
