Dannie Barton Kliewer was born December 17, 1931, in Corn, Oklahoma, to Karl Joseph and Anna (Bartel) Kliewer and passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Maple Lawn Manor in Hydro, Oklahoma.

Dannie was raised and attended school in Corn where he graduated from Corn Bible Academy in 1949. After high school, Dannie joined the alternative service and while registering with the Mennonite Central Committee in Pennsylvania he met a young lady, Dorothy, and they began to date. As part of his service, Dannie was assigned to Boys Village in Wooster-Smithville, Ohio and Dannie and Dorothy continued their relationship long distance—writing letters and visiting each other on occasion. It was on one such visit that Dannie proposed to Dorothy on the train, and they were soon married on May 28, 1954 in Hillsboro, Kansas.

After completing his service, Dannie and Dorothy made their home in Corn, Oklahoma where they took over the family farm South of Corn. Dannie farmed until retirement in the early 1980s. Dannie and Dorothy enjoyed volunteering for Et Cetera Shop in Weatherford and Wear-It-Again in Clinton, and continued volunteering until recently. Dannie enjoyed spending his time woodworking, making picture frames for family members, gardening and painting by numbers.

Dannie is survived by son, Terry Kliewer and wife, Nining and their daughter, Cassandra Kliewer; son RaMon Kliewer and wife, Kris and their children, Kendra Rios and husband, Johnny, Amber Keeton, and Joshua Kliewer and wife, Danah; daughter, Susan Shantz and husband, Tim and their children, Jubal Shantz and wife, Ashley, Echo Shantz and Regal Shantz; and sister-in-law, Rosella Suderman.  He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy; and brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Mildred Kliewer.

A graveside service for Dannie will be held Monday, November 3, 2025, 10:00 A.M. at Corn Mennonite Brethren Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.

A family and friends' visitation will be held on Saturday, November 1, 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Lockstone Funeral Home.
