Dale
Smith
April 2, 1942 – June 16, 2023
Gareld Dale Smith was born April 2, 1942, in Washita County, OK, to Roy Franklin and Ethel Arminda (Dailey) Smith and passed away Friday, June 16, 2023, at Abode Home in San Antonio, at the age of 81 years, 2 months and 14 days.
Dale was raised on the family farm north of Colony and graduated from Colony High School in 1960. Dale has lived an adventurous life. He has had a variety of careers that include cross country truck driver, iron worker, construction worker, and brick/tile salesman that have allowed him to travel most of the United States. He has lived the longest in San Antonio where he worked for Acme Brick and opened several Sonic Drive-In's. Dale loved to golf and has been able to play some of the nicest golf courses imaginable. He also enjoyed hanging out with his friends and family and loved to watch his grandkids participate in their various activities. Dale was outgoing, energetic and had the best stories to tell about his adventures. But even after all of his travels and his relocation to San Antonio, he was just an Oklahoma farm boy at heart.
Dale is survived by his children, Scotty Dale and wife, Catherine of San Antonio, TX, Debra Morris and husband, Ricky of Weatherford, OK and Michael Smith and wife, Jennifer of New Braunfels, TX; three grandchildren, Paden Morris, Dacey Morris and Madison Smith; three nephews, Lance and Candance Smith, Mike Howell, and Monty and Anice Howell. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ronda (Willis) Smith; and brother, Delton Smith.
