Crystal Nicole (Nisziinah) Mason was born January 1, 1981, in Clinton, Oklahoma to Julia Ann Washa and passed on from this earthly life on Monday, July 27, 2026, at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 45.
She is an enrolled Cheyenne and Arapaho tribal member with Kiowa and Comanche descent. Crystal was raised and attended school in Weatherford.
Growing up, Crystal was a champion pow-wow dancer often competed in Fancy Shawl, Buckskin, and Cloth dance categories. She was Princess for several different pow-wows and organizations.
Crystal was a comedian and loved to make everyone laugh and loved to reminisce. She rarely met a stranger and always went above and beyond to make everyone feel welcomed. She loved spending time with her family and friends and treasured every opportunity to be with her children and her grandson. She enjoyed journaling, listening to music, and binge watching her favorite shows.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents Clara and Max Silverhorn; aunts Tina Diana Washa and Karen (Washa) Yeahquo; uncles Oscar 'Goo' Washa, Porfirio Dean (LA) Washa Jr., Mike Washa, Ross Washa; and cousin Mark Quintana.
Crystal is survived by her four children, Aaron Matthew, Alyssa Reyzha-Danielle, Honovi Rage, and Haven Alizabeth; her grandson, Qahnaarin Keanu; her stepdad Christian; her brother, Markus Cole and sister-in-law Jenny, her sister Erica Rose, and her special sister Karla Iron; aunt Rose (Washa) Clayborn, aunt Wilma Redbird, and uncle Tallsun Washa; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A wake service will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 31, 2026, at the Clinton ERC Building.
Funeral services for Crystal Mason will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at the Cheyenne and Arapaho ERC Building in Clinton, Oklahoma, with Edwina Horsechief and Mona Bearshield officiating. Burial will follow in the Chief Black Shortnose family cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.
