Graveside Services for Coqueece (Clifton) Keith, 80 year old Thomas resident, will be held Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Liberty Cemetery of Fay, Oklahoma with David Beck officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.
Coqueece was born March 22, 1935 in Madill, Oklahoma to Sam and Grace Clifton. She passed away on October 23, 2015 at Weatherford Living Center in Weatherford, Oklahoma at the age of 80 years, 7 months, and 1 day.
Coqueece grew up in the Tishomingo, Oklahoma area and attended Ravia, Oklahoma schools. On August 19, 1950, Coqueece was united in marriage to C.B (Salty) Keith in Tishomingo. Salty and Coqueece lived in Vernon, TX for three years before moving to Thomas, Oklahoma in 1953 where they made their home.
Coqueece, or Coke to most people, worked at numerous jobs in Thomas, such as pulling cotton, rubbing sweet potatoes, waitressing at the U Eat Caf, and cashiering at the Red Bud grocery store. She then worked at the Kellwood Plant in Clinton, Oklahoma where she advanced to a shift supervisor position. After Kellwood closed, she worked part time at the Cherokee gift store near Clinton, Oklahoma.
Coke enjoyed crafts of all kinds, especially crocheting and beading. She gave almost every family member a token of her craft. Coke will be greatly missed by many loved ones and friends.
Coke was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Grace Clifton; one daughter, Cathy Lynn Nickel; one grandson, Scott Alan Keith; one sister, Judy Rogers; two brothers, Larry Winkler and Edward Lee Chaney; and one daughter-in-law, Melvia Keith. Coke is survived by her husband, Salty of the home; two sons, Carl Barney Keith of Lahoma, OK and Cary Keith and wife Rhonda of Kismet, KS; one daughter Debby Jones and husband Don of Weatherford, OK; two sisters, Louise Deaton of Midwest City, OK and Sue Bass of Edmond, OK; one brother, Sam Clifton of Fort Smith, AR; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
