Funeral services for Clarence Sturm, 77 year-old Weatherford, Oklahoma resident, will be held Monday, February 1, 2016, 2:00 P.M. in The Chapel of Lockstone Funeral Home with Steve Strickler officiating.

Clarence was born July 22, 1938, in Vinita, Oklahoma, to Edward and Christina (Pels) Sturm and passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Clarence was raised and attended school in Pilot Point, Texas, and graduated in 1956. He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1960, and in the Army Reserve from 1961 to 1962. Clarence married Linda Smith on November 12, 1960 and made their home in Texas. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from North Texas State University and his Masters degree from Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas. He later earned his Doctorate from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Clarence moved to Weatherford in 1966 and was a college professor at Southwestern Oklahoma State University for 32 years before retiring in 1998. On May 31, 1981, he married Patricia Bayless in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Clarence enjoyed golfing, landscaping around the house using his orange Kabota tractor, and spending time with his family and friends. Memorials may be made to the SWOSU Foundation the Clarence Sturm Scholarship fund.

Clarence is survived by his wife of 35 years, Pat Sturm of their home in Weatherford, Oklahoma; two sons, Chris Sturm and wife, Melissa of Cashion, Oklahoma; and Ron Sturm and wife, Barbara of Bakersfield, California; a daughter, Cindy Robinson of Los Angeles, California; a brother, Paul Sturm and wife, Lillian of Pilot Point, Texas; a sister, Roseanne Henzler and husband, Ben of Pilot Point, Texas; a sister-in-law, Shirley Sturm of Denton, Texas; and three grandchildren, Kaitlyn Sturm, Courtney Sturm, and Kyle Sturm of Bakersfield, California. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Joe Sturm.
