Clarence Columbus Strong, 85 year-old Weatherford resident, was born on March 16, 1934 in Weatherford, Oklahoma to Columbus and Flora (Graves) Strong and passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at Weatherford Regional Hospital in Weatherford, OK.

Clarence was raised in Weatherford where he attended Weatherford Public Schools. He enlisted in the Army and served in Korea. On September 14, 1956 he married Virginia Ragsdale in Silver City, NM and they made their home in Weatherford. Clarence worked in asphalt paving for Circle S for 40 years and retired in 1999. Clarence enjoyed spending time outside—hand fishing, gardening, and scrapping metal.

Clarence is survived by his wife, Virginia Strong, of the home in Weatherford; two sons, Randy Everett Strong of Sayre, Oklahoma, and Clarence L and Peggy Strong of Weatherford, OK; two sisters, Lou Smith of Clinton, OK, and Lisbeth and Gary Sizelove of Eurea, Illinois; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers, Walter, Frank, Ernest, and Olan; and 2 sons, Larry and Ray; and 1 grandson, Chad.
