Graveside services for Clarence Leon Epperly, 93 year-old Hydro, Oklahoma resident, will be held Wednesday, August 9, 2017, 4:30 P.M. at Hydro Masonic Cemetery with Dennis King officiating. Services are under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.
Clarence was born October 23, 1923, in Gracemont, Oklahoma to Claude and May (Lamb) Epperly and passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, Sunday, August 6, 2017, at his home in Hydro, Oklahoma. Clarence was raised and attended school in the Gracemont and Anadarko area. On August 28, 1945, he married Gwendolyn Cherry in Anadarko and made their home east of Anadarko. In 1961, they moved to east of Hinton and later he owned and operated a mechanic shop in Eakly. Clarence and Gwendolyn moved to Weatherford from 1970 to 1979 when they settled in Hydro. He worked for DeFehr Implement for 22 years before retiring in 1991. Clarence enjoyed fishing, doing mechanic work, and spending time with family and friends. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Clarence is survived by three sons, Raymond Epperly and wife, Karen of Colony, Oklahoma, Clayton Epperly and wife, Donna, and Kevin Epperly and wife, Shawna all of Weatherford, Oklahoma; three daughters, Karen Slanaker of Ft. Collins, Colorado, Sharon Epperly of Yukon, Oklahoma, and Kristi Epperly of Hydro, Oklahoma; two brothers, Donald Epperly of Hinton, Oklahoma and Ronald Epperly and wife, Janie of Rolla, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one brother, Richard; four sisters, Dorothy, Mildred, Opal, and Juanita; and one grandson, Chance.
