Funeral services for Cinda Lula Rice, 84 year-old Clinton, Oklahoma resident, will be held Saturday, June 18, 2016, 10:00 A.M. at the Country Jamboree. Burial will follow in High Point Cemetery, north of Colony, Oklahoma, under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.
Cinda was born August 31, 1931, north of Colony, Oklahoma, to Stewart and Olive (Gyles) Barnes and passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at Cordell Christian Home in Cordell, Oklahoma. Cinda was raised north of Colony, Oklahoma and attended Pleasant Valley Rural School and Colony Schools. On August 4, 1946, she married Buster Rice in Dumas, Texas and made their home in Watsonville, California. They returned to Colony where she worked alongside her husband on the family farm. Cinda owned and operated Cindas Flowers for 20 years. In 1989, they opened Colony Jamboree until they moved it to Clinton in 1998 and renamed it the Country Jamboree, which they owned and operated for over 26 years. They moved to Clinton in 2000. Cinda enjoyed family get-togethers, music, gardening, taking care of the yard, and Christmas decorations and decorating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a fund set up for her grandson, Austin Dunn, whom has cancer, c/o New Hope Fellowship Church, 1805 Custer Ave. Clinton, OK 73601.
Cinda is survived by two daughters, Elwinna Weil and husband, Allen and Lana Golden and husband, Jack all of Clinton, Oklahoma; two brothers, Mack Barnes and wife, Sharon of Colony, Oklahoma and Rex Barnes and wife, Linda of Foreston, Texas; two sisters, Norma Tate of Seminole, Oklahoma and Dixie Hayes and husband, George of Eakly, Oklahoma; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, J.D. and Melvin; and three sisters, Thelma, Goldie, and Chubb.
