Obituary

Funeral: 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 6th, 2013Clinton Country Jamboree

Funeral services for Chester Lee Buster Rice, 87 year-old Clinton, Oklahoma resident, formerly of Colony, Oklahoma, will be held Wednesday, 10:00 A.M., February 6, 2013, at Clinton Country Jamboree with Sandy Shephard and Chris Ramber officiating. Burial will follow at High Point Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.

Buster was born July 18, 1925 in Lake Valley, Oklahoma to Talmage and Georgia (Snow) Rice and passed away Sunday, February 3, 2013 in Clinton after a 4 month battle with lung cancer. Buster was raised and attended school in the Lake Valley area and at a young age the family moved to Colony, Oklahoma. He worked as a farm hand until he enlisted in the U.S. Army serving during WW II and returned to Colony. On August 4, 1946, Buster married Cinda Barnes in Dumas, Texas and made their home in California. They returned to the Colony area where he was a hard working farmer and retired in 2007. Buster enjoyed coffee every morning with his friends at the local caf, going to the sale barn every Tuesday, and was active with the Clinton Country Jamboree for 25 years. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Buster is survived by his wife of 67 years, Cinda Rice of their home in Clinton, Oklahoma; two daughters, Elwinna Weil and husband, Alan of Clinton, Oklahoma, and Lana Skinner of Clinton, Oklahoma; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and six sisters, Bonnie, Opal, Sylvia, Ella Mae, Minnie, and Nema.
