Burial will follow at 2:30 P.M. in Sunnyside Cemetery in Vici, Oklahoma under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.

Chuck was born September 2, 1939 in Enid, Oklahoma to Charles Vernon and Eva Elgin (Herrian) Page and passed away Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in Elk City, Oklahoma. Chucks childhood and elementary school years were spent in and around a number of small towns close to Enid. He moved to Enid his freshman year and graduated from Enid High School in 1957. He was an academic student as well as an athlete. He was a lineman on the football team and catcher on the baseball team. Also he was active in Thespians and was president his senior year.

After high school, Chuck attended Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas on a football scholarship. After a football injury ended his football playing career, he came back to Oklahoma and enrolled at Oklahoma State University. During his junior, he met Twanda Marie Smith of Vici, Oklahoma. They married exactly a year later on March 26, 1961 at the United Methodist Church in Vici. This partnership lasted 52 years. To this union, a son and a daughter were born. After their graduation in May of 1961, they moved to Oklahoma City where Chuck was assistant manager of a T.G. & Y. After a time, he decided to pursue his dream of teaching. In the fall of 1962 he and Twanda started their teaching careers in Corona, New Mexico High School. After teaching three years, he received the opportunity to start his college teaching career at Panhandle State University in Goodwell, Oklahoma. By this time, he had his Masters degree and thinking about a doctorate. During the summers, he would attend a university with that goal in mind. The family now included Stan and LeAnn. They moved to Greeley, Colorado and attended the University of Northern Colorado. During his time Chuck taught a full load and completed his Doctor of Education Degree and became Dr. Page. In July of 1970, the family moved to Weatherford. He began his teaching at SWOSU which lasted until May of 1999 when he retired. He spent many years of that time as head of the accounting department.

In the summer of 1963, Chuck was selected to be a participant in the General Electrics Economics Fellowship program. After only teaching 1 year in high school this was considered a real honor. He met people who influenced his understanding and perception of the business world. This was held at Claremont Mens College in Claremont, California. He rode the passenger train from Woodward, Oklahoma to California.

He belonged to several accounting organizations. He was active in the Oklahoma Society of CPAs. He was at the ceremony when son, Stan became a CPA, also. He was an officer in the Southern States CPA. He was president for a cycle of time. The Southern States CPA organization was an event each summer that the whole family participated. He attended the World CPA Congress in 1992 when it was held in Washington, D.C.

Chuck had put so much emphasis on continuing through a doctoral program, he hadnt thought much about setting for the CPA exam. His accounting students began to ask him what they should study before taking the exam. Finally, he decided he could be of more help to them if he experienced it. He became a CPA in 1975.

When Chuck completed his Ed D. Degree, the question was where to settle down and raise a family. A couple, Dr. Donald and Glenna Hertzler of Weatherford seemed to blaze the trail for Chuck and Twanda. Where they went the Pages were sure to follow. Since there was an accounting position available at SWOSU Chuck interviewed and got the job. After getting established as a professor of Accounting at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, He and Bill Brooks, another accountant now living in Arkansas after teaching awhile at SWOSU. They established an accounting office in the Berrongs building. Carol Tressel, one of his accounting graduates was office manager. Later Berrongs needed that space for their business, Chuck found office space available on Bradley Street. After a time, Chuck became a sole proprietorship firm and in 1984 bought the building at 112 N. State Street in Weatherford. The Dr. Charles W. page CPA, Inc. closed on May 1, 2009. The building is now used in the family apartment rental business.

Through the years he hired a number of accounting majors and accounting graduates. These people have excelled in the accounting profession. Chuck branched out into auditing over time. School audits became his specialty.

Chuck traveled in all 50 states. The 50th state was Hawaii. He and Twanda celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary while in Hawaii. He visited nine countries over the years.

After moving to Weatherford, they joined the First United Methodist Church. They have been active in their Sunday school class first as the young married class which now is called the Inquiry Class. In later years he helped with funeral dinners.

Chuck was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity at O.S.U. This provided a lot of memories during their junior and senior years at O.S.U.

Chuck is survived by his wife of 52 years, Twanda Page of their home in Weatherford, Oklahoma; one son, Stan Page of Weatherford, Oklahoma; one daughter, LeAnn Ellis and husband, Hal of Stillwater, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Allison Page Drummond of Tacoma, Washington and Christine Caroline Drummond of Spokane, Washington; and mother-in-law, Glessnell Smith of Weatherford, Oklahoma, formerly of Vici. He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Vern Smith; and Aunt, Olive and Bert Page, Aunt Vera and Uncle Fred Herrian, and Aunt Gladys and Uncle Merrill Hasbrook.
