Obituary

Charles Vernon Goucher was born December 30, 1935 in Bridgeport, Oklahoma to Vergil Raymond and Mildred Mabel (Trumbley) Goucher and passed away Monday, May 7, 2018, at home surrounded by his family, at the age of 82 years, 4 months, and 7 days.

Charles was raised and attended school in Hydro, graduating from Hydro High School in 1954. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956. When Charles got out of the service he stayed in Oklahoma City where he worked at a service station and attended college. On November 8, 1959, he married Patricia M. Ayres in Durant, Oklahoma and in 1964 they moved to Weatherford where Charles worked for Noel Black Construction, building bridges, for 10 years and later worked at Riley Construction. He also partnered with John "Buck" Crim then was active in his own business, working with alternators, starters, and generators. Chares enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing dominoes and cards; laughing and spending time with family and friends. Memorials may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Research or to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation – Lung.

Charles is survived by his wife of 58 years, Pat of their home in Weatherford, Oklahoma; two sons, Corky Goucher of Weatherford, Oklahoma and Steve Goucher and wife, Lisa of Rockwell, Texas; one daughter, Carrie Murrie and husband, Larry of Mt. Airy, Maryland; one brother, Allen Goucher of Weatherford, Oklahoma; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother and his wife, Raymond Eli and JoNell (Boschert) Goucher; his sister-in-law, Carolyn; and a grandson, Shawn Michael Murrie.
