Funeral services for Cecil Carl McBrayer, 83 year-old Weatherford, Oklahoma resident, will be held Saturday, January 28, 2017, 10:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church with Earl Stephenson officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.

Cecil was born October 23, 1933, in Louisville, Mississippi to Escar Eugene and Nannie Gertrude (Wilson) McBrayer and passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Cecil was raised and attended school in Louisville, Mississippi and graduated from Louisville High School in 1951. On June 13, 1953, he married Elizabeth Robertson in DeKalb, Mississippi. They lived in Pickens, Mississippi and moved to Yazoo City, Mississippi in 1966. In 1981, Cecil and Liz moved their family to Weatherford, Oklahoma where he worked for Southern Natural Gas. They moved to Tuscaloosa, Alabama in 1987 until he retired in 1994 and they returned to Weatherford. Cecil worked for Cummins Dealership for over 20 years. He was active at the First Baptist Church, was in Masonic Lodge for 52 years, Kiwanis, Nail Benders which did missionary work, received a Chamber of Commerce Award, and cooked for numerous community events. Cecil enjoyed making his brittle, cooking for family and the community, and taking care of people. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church.

Cecil is survived by his wife of 63 years, Elizabeth McBrayer of their home in Weatherford, Oklahoma; one son, Gene McBrayer and wife, Linda of Hydro, Oklahoma; two daughters, Angie Mackey and Tangie Winn and husband, Shawn all of Weatherford, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Boyce, Royce, Bill, and Richard.
