A celebration of life for Carolyn Melynn (Carter) Yearwood, 46 year-old Weatherford, Oklahoma resident, will be held Tuesday, April 14, 2015, 10:00 A.M. at Liberty Church, 109 West Franklin, Weatherford, Oklahoma with Pastor Scott Page officiating. Burial will follow at the Eakly Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.

Carolyn was born April 20, 1968, in Oklahoma City, OK to Roy Carter and Elnora (Wilson) Carter of Chickasha, OK and passed away peacefully with family on April 10, 2015 after a courageous four year battle with cancer.

Carolyn was raised in Ninnekah and Chickasha and graduated from Ninnekah High School with the Class of 1986. She was a born again Christian and was baptized June 10, 1979. Carolyn was Valedictorian of her 8th grade class in school, and Salutatorian of her senior class at Ninnekah. She went on to college and graduated at University of Science and Arts in Chickasha, OK with Bachelor of Science Degree with a Major in Psychology in 1990. She received her Masters Degree in Psychology at Oklahoma City University in 1994 and began social work in Norman, OK. In 1996, Carolyn became a Licensed Professional Counselor with the State of Oklahoma. After working in her field in Norman and Oklahoma City, she married Mark Yearwood in 1996 and they made their home in Weatherford, OK, and she began work at Red Rock Behavioral Health in Clinton, OK where she worked for almost 18 years.

Carolyn enjoyed traveling to beaches and the mountains, trying different restaurants, her dogs, and being "Mimi" to five beautiful grandchildren. She also loved her job helping people and extended that love beyond work.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Mark Yearwood of the home in Weatherford, OK; her parents, Roy and Elnora Carter of Chickasha, OK; her father and mother-in-law, Max and Sue Yearwood of Eakly, OK; two daughters, Jessica and husband Colby Huckabay of Hydro, OK and Amber and husband Michael Webb of Weatherford, OK. Also by five grandchildren, Ryleigh Huckabay, Channing Huckabay, Cohen Huckabay, Gage Webb, and Rush Webb.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her grandparents, Gus and Maggie Carter of Kinta, OK and Walter and Valentine Wilson of Lane, OK. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Carolyn's honor to Teen Challenge of Oklahoma, P.O. Box 270365, Oklahoma City, OK 73137.
