Carolyn Joy
Dibler
July 9, 1942 – August 13, 2024
Carolyn Dibler was born to Herbert and Peoble (Amen) Brehm on July 9, 1942, in Weatherford, Oklahoma.
In her early school years, Carolyn attended the rural Missouri School south of Weatherford. The family later moved into town, where she attended Weatherford Schools, graduating from Weatherford High School in the class of 1960.
After high school, Carolyn attended Southwestern State College and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics with a minor in Accounting. She then worked for a time at Security State Bank.
On May 3, 1969, Carolyn married Richard Dibler. Over a number of years, the pair lived in Cashion, Anadarko, and Altus before returning and making their home permanently in Weatherford. In that time, Carolyn bore three children, Jeff, Jason, and Jennifer.
Carolyn was able to be a homemaker staying at home to raise the three children. She actively volunteered at the schools as her kids grew up.
Family was of great importance to Carolyn. She was actively involved with helping to keep reunions for both the Brehm and Amen families going. She was treasurer for the Brehm Family Reunion for many years.
In later years, Carolyn was active with Custer County OHCE, Kappa Kappa Iota, and the Heartland Museum. She served on the Museum board for the last few years and kept up her regular Friday morning volunteer docent time. She loved the museum and enjoyed giving the Wind Turbine Tours for the museum.
Carolyn is survived by son Jeff and daughter-in-law Sandy Dibler of La Pine, OR, son Jason Dibler of Weatherford, daughter Jennifer and son-in-law Mark Samas of San Antonio, TX, and two granddaughters, Rebecca and Rachel Samas, of San Antonio.
She was preceded in death by her parents Herbert and Peoble Brehm, her brother Jerry Brehm, and her husband Richard Dibler.
Donations in Carolyn's memory can be made to the Heartland Museum.
