Caroline Reed
Vaughan
September 29, 2016 – June 9, 2018
Caroline Reed Vaughan was born September 29, 2016, in Santa Clarita, California to Christopher Clay and Shanna Rae (Deevers) Vaughan and passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018, in Weatherford, Oklahoma, at the age of 1 year, 8 months, and 14 days.
Caroline was a lively spirited little soul. She loved to dance and have her toes painted bright colors. She was the life of the party! Caroline adored her big brother and followed him constantly, wanting to play with whatever toy he had. She had Clay wrapped around her finger from the beginning! Caroline could get a mean case of the "hangries" (when you are so hungry you get angry). She would get upset quickly when she was hungry, so Clay and Jaxon would rush home from work to make sure dinner was ready everyday by the time Shanna and Caroline arrived home. Caroline loved her food, especially when she could dip it in something. She would eat all of Jackie's pizza and she had fun feeding people from her little play kitchen at Nana Tara's house. She also enjoyed pushing her little baby stroller around their house. Her daddy and brother took her on a special outing to pick out a baby doll for her stroller. She quickly mastered the word "NO!" Usually accompanied by vigorous head shaking. Mema says, "If she's not a little spicy, she's not worth having" and this could not be any truer. She blessed the lives of those she met and they will always remember her as a spunky and spicy little girl that knew exactly what she wanted. Jaxon always called her Cara Lion. And, boy, could she roar when she was upset. Jax would sing "Sweet Caroline" to her to entertain her during long car rides to "Homa." While visiting the farm, Caroline would watch the three kittens play on the back patio and just laugh at how cute and clumsy the kittens were. Mema and Grandad's favorite thing is to spoil their kids. For Christmas 2017 Mema and Grandad bought Caroline an olive green jacket with embroidered flowers that Caroline absolutely adored. She would practice putting it on and taking it off and show it off to everyone around. When outside she loved to pick up the prettiest rocks she could find. When Caroline and her family weren't in Oklahoma, Nana would come down to Wichita Falls to play in the sprinkler and go on walks. Caroline loved to go down the slide and swing, but mostly she loved to follow brother around and they would get into all kinds of mischief together. Nana taught Caroline to kiss by sticking candy in her mouth. Caroline would put her little hands on either side of Nana's face and kiss her while simultaneously getting the candy. At home they would take turns pushing each other around in their toy cars and Caroline enjoyed sitting in her blue unicorn chair all by herself. When she was in the mood to cuddle she would steal Shanna's favorite blanket and curl up on the couch with her daddy. Then later around dinner time she would crawl up in her high chair take off her shoes and show her family her toes saying "Nana, Nana." She wanted everyone to know that her Nana painted her toes a bright teal blue. Caroline had wild hair! She would get up in the morning looking like a wild child with a sheet of hair in her face until Shanna would fix her hair in a little up and down pony tail style or the favorite pigtails that would stick straight out of the top of her little head.
Caroline was blessed with an amazing family….Parents Clay and Shanna, big brother Jaxon, paternal grandparents Papa Donnie and Nana Tara Vaughan, maternal grandparents, Nana Barbie Deevers and Kevin "Deevers", great grandparents Ray Wolf and Ben and Charlene Deevers. She was rich in aunts and uncles also…Jackie and Colby Vaughan and Jami and Miranda Deevers.
