Funeral services for Carol Jean (Ledbetter) Schantz, 73 year-old Thomas, Oklahoma resident, will be held Thursday, April 21, 2016, 10:00 A.M. at Freedom Worship Center in Thomas with pastor Jerry Yoder officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Valley Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home of Thomas.

Carol was born on July 1, 1942, in Pawhuska, Oklahoma to Arthur and Louise (Self) Ledbetter and passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016, at Grace Living Center in Clinton, Oklahoma having reached the age of 73 years, 9 months, 16 days.

Carol was raised in Hominy, Oklahoma and graduated from Hominy High School in 1959. She married Donnie Schantz on May 5, 1961, in Hominy, Oklahoma where they made their home. In 1963, they moved to Thomas, Oklahoma where they raised their family. Carol enjoyed knitting and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Carol is survived by her husband, Donnie Schantz of the home; three boys, Larry Schantz and his wife, Donna of Dallas, Texas, Johnny Schantz and his wife, Saundra of Bessemer, Alabama and Bobby Schantz and his wife, Julie of Clinton, Oklahoma; three girls, Lisa Wilkerson and her husband, Cody of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Donna Williams and Rob Shepherd of Weatherford, Oklahoma, and Bianca Caler and her husband, Gary of Booker, Texas; twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Marvin Ledbetter and his wife, Eva of Cleveland, Oklahoma and Albert Ledbetter of Hominy, Oklahoma; one sister, Wanda Ledbetter of Cleveland, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Jared Schantz.
