Funeral: 2:00 PM Thursday, December 13th, 2012Zion Church

Funeral services for Calvin Reuben Kissler, 88 year-old Weatherford, Oklahoma resident, will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Zion Church with Pastor Jason Ewing officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home. Family will receive friends at funeral home on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M.

Calvin was born September 11, 1924, southwest of Weatherford, Oklahoma, to Reuben H. and Rachel (Rosenoff) Kissler and passed away after a brief illness on Sunday, December 9, 2012 in the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Calvin was raised in the Weatherford area and attended Enterprise Rural and Weatherford High School graduating in 1944. He farmed wheat and ranched all his life. He enjoyed going to the farm every day. Calvin was a life-time member of the Zion Congregational Church and was on the Farmers Coop board for 28 years. He married Barbara Hatfield on May 24, 1955 in Apache, Oklahoma. They have made their home in Weatherford, Oklahoma. To this union they had two sons, Weldon Benjamin in 1957 and Dennis Reuben in 1962.

Calvin is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Kissler of their home in Weatherford, Oklahoma; two sons, Weldon Kissler and wife, Rachel of Weatherford, Oklahoma and Dennis Kissler and wife, Renee of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one sister, Frances Kissler of Weatherford, Oklahoma; one brother-in-law, Zane Bergen; three grandchildren, Kaylie and Benjamin Kissler of Weatherford, Oklahoma and Austin Kissler of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and numerous relatives.
