Funeral services for Byron James Scales, 17 year old Weatherford, Oklahoma resident, will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church in Weatherford with Brother Scott Hume officiating. Burial will follow in the Wheeler Cemetery in Wheeler, Texas, under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.
Byron was born on February 2, 1997, in Amarillo, Texas and is the son of William Scales and Melissa Wills and he passed away on August 15, 2014. He was raised in Wheeler, Texas and then moved to Altus, Oklahoma where he started school. He later attended school in Hooker, Oklahoma before moving to Weatherford. Byron was getting ready to begin his Senior Year at Weatherford High School.
He was a musician and enjoyed music and playing his tuba, he also spent time with his pet snakes, Zeus, Lady & Gandalf, and pet lizard, Smaug. Byron was a fisherman and liked camping and fishing, but he especially liked driving his car. He will be missed by family and friends.
Byron is survived by his mother, Melissa Frederick of Weatherford and his dad, Will Scales and his wife, Melisa of Wheeler, Texas; two brothers: Randall Hatcher of Wheeler, Texas and Camron Frederick of Weatherford; four sisters: Vanessa Scales of Wheeler, Texas, Sarah Scales of Weatherford, Emalee Scales of Wheeler, Texas and Shaylinna Frederick of Meno, Oklahoma; paternal grandmother, Bessie Scales of Wheeler, Texas and paternal grandfather Don McMenamy of Elk City and maternal grandparents Jon & Connie Steffey of Allison, Texas; six uncles: Jerrad Wills of Lake Port, California, Ethan Wills and his wife Carrie of Amarillo, Texas, Billy Scales and his wife Janice of Wheeler, Texas, Vance Callaway, Chase Scales and Daniel Medina of Amarillo, Texas ; two aunts, Lee Klonoski and her husband Joe and Becky Blackburn of Wheeler, Texas; and lots and lots of cousins.
