Funeral services for Brenda Louise Smith, 54 year-old Sayre, Oklahoma resident, will be held Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. in the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Weatherford, Oklahoma with Preston Barber officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.

Brenda was born October 28, 1960 in Clinton, Oklahoma to LeRoy and Patricia (Sauer) Schmidt and passed away on January 10, 2015 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was raised and graduated from Weatherford High School in 1978. She attended college at Southwestern OK State University and received her Masters Degree. She married Paul Smith on December 17, 2004, in Tucumcari, New Mexico and they made their home in Sayre, Oklahoma. She worked at North Fork Correctional Center in Sayre, Oklahoma for the last five years. She enjoyed reading, board games, and her three dogs. Brenda is survived by her husband, Paul Smith of Sayre, Oklahoma; her mother, Pat Sauer of Weatherford, Oklahoma; two sons, Nathan Thompson and his wife, Jordan of Amarillo, Texas and Logan Dorhout of Justin, Texas; one daughter, Rebecca Thompson of Edmond, Oklahoma; one sister, Letricia Barber and her husband, Preston of Woodbridge, Virginia; and three grandchildren, Dalana, Joey, and Tyler Thompson. She was preceded in death by her father.
