Billy Dale Gripe was born January 7, 1934 in Hydro, Oklahoma to Ernest Esta Gripe and Alma Lena (Stambaugh) Gripe.  He died November 5, 2021 at INTEGRIS Hospice House in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma having reached the age of 87 years, 9 months, 27 days.

Bill was raised in Western Oklahoma in the Thomas and Weatherford area and graduated Weatherford High School in 1952.  He later graduated from McPherson College with a BS in Business Administration in 1958.  He married the love of his life, Betty Jean Brallier, daughter of Evan Lowell and Hazel Marie (Rouse) Brallier on June 9, 1962 in McPherson, Kansas.

Following college graduation, he was in the insurance business for over 30 years but the joy of his life was God and family.  He was a very kind and generous man devoted to his wife of 59 years, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends.  He led by example of what an amazing and godly man, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend was. He was happiest doing volunteer and mission work, traveling and spending time with his loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.  Surviving are his wife, Betty of the home; daughter, Joyce Marshall and husband Dale of Yukon, Oklahoma; Bob Gripe and wife Christy of Tuttle, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Joseph Marshall and wife Leah, Joshua Marshall and wife Whitney, Jennifer Gripe, and Kayla Harp and husband Nathan; and four great-granchildren, Maisie, Akana, Riley, and Peleiholani Marshall.
