Betty Joe McCray was born November 18, 1944 in Weatherford, OK to Clarence Frank and Nora Mae (Jones) Klaassen and passed away Saturday May 5, 2018 surround by family, at the age of 73 years, 4 months, and 17 days.

Betty was raised and attended school in Weatherford, graduating from Weatherford High School with the Class of 1963. After high school she worked as a bookkeeper in her dad's shop. On August 20, 1966 she married Darrell Eugene McCray in Pampa, TX and they made their home Weatherford. She operated a home daycare beginning 1980, and worked in childcare, most recently worked at her daughter's daycare. Betty will be remembered as full of life. She enjoyed children—above all her own grandchildren and spending time with her family at home. She loved to cook for her family—especially strudels. Her husband recalls over 51 years of marriage as the perfect marriage. She has a strong work ethic which she passed on to her family, always encouraging them to do just a little bit more. She would say "I'm not bossy; I just know what you should be doing." Memorials may be made to New Life Family Worship Center.

Betty is survived by her husband, Darrell, of the home in Weatherford; two daughters, Kimberly Murray and husband Marcus of Weatherford, OK, and Crystal Bryant and husband Jay of Weatherford, OK; one brother, Clarence Klaassen Jr. and wife Pat, of Colorado Springs, CO; and one sister, Gayla Taylor of Elk City, OK; four grandsons; Derek, Kevin, Koner, and Dathan; one granddaughter Jayden; and two great-grandsons; Carter and Bryson. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one daughter, Jennifer Ann.
