Betty Lou Lowry was born on November 13, 1930 in Colony, Oklahoma to Luther and Allene (Murray) Payne and passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2012 at Saint Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City at the age of 81 years, 9 months, and 19 days.

Betty Lou was raised and attended school in Colony, graduating from Colony High School in 1948. She was married on February 28, 1948 to Weedn Lowry in the Colony Presbyterian Church. They made their southwest of Colony. She worked alongside her husband on the family farm for many years before moving into Colony in 1967. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, working in her garden, and her cats. Memorials may be made to the Columbian Memorial Presbyterian Church in Colony.

Betty Lou is survived by one son, Ron Lowry and his wife Beverly of Colony; one daughter Lynda Kliewer and her husband Keith of Bartlesville; five grandchildren, Bree Patterson and her husband Joe of Mountain View, OK, Blake Lowry of Oklahoma City, Brody Lowry and wife Kelsea of Colony, Ashley Gilliam and her husband Tyler of Sandsprings, OK, and Austin Kliewer of Bartlesville, OK; and three great-grandchildren, Brylee and Kash Lowry of Colony, and Graysen Gilliam of Sandsprings, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
