Betty Lou (Smith) Dozier was born July 24, 1939, on the family farm northwest of Weatherford, Oklahoma to John and Doris (Smith) Smith and passed away Monday, April 9, 2018, at the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, at the age of 78 years, 8 months, and 15 days.
Betty was raised in the Weatherford area and attended school at Union Rural School through the 8 th grade then graduated from Weatherford High School in 1957. On May 4, 1958, she married James Robert Dozier in Weatherford and made their home northwest of Weatherford. Betty worked for Raven Industries until she retired in 1998. She also worked in the church nursery and helped with church meals at the First Baptist Church of Weatherford. Betty enjoyed cooking, going on mission trips, going as a sponsor to Falls Creek, and spending time with family and friends. Betty will be remembered as devoted to her family, always supporting and attending her children, and grandchildren's events. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Weatherford.
Betty is survived by two sons, Jeff Dozier and wife, Lea Ann of Weatherford, Oklahoma and Wayne Dozier and wife, Grace of Choctaw, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Keyton James and John Braxton; four step-grandchildren, Dan Meier and Lea, Sharee Reed and Brandon, Ryan Noyce, Taylor Brummett and Colten; and seven step-great-grandchildren, Hayden and Daniel Meier, Alexia and Ayden Reed; Xailey, Everett and Spencer Brummett; and numerous nieces nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Bob Smith.
